Amanzoe Unveils Life Cycles Summer Art Exhibition in Collaboration with Zoumboulakis Galleries

On the east coast of the beach-fringed Peloponnese, Amanzoe has long welcomed guests to discover a region that has been at the heart of Greek culture for millennia.

Now in its 14th year, Aman’s acropolis-inspired retreat is deepening its connection to local culture through Life Cycles, a summer art exhibition presented in collaboration with Zoumboulakis Galleries. Running from 22 May to 31 October 2026, the exhibition marks a significant milestone for both partners and will showcase works by an intergenerational group of leading Greek female artists throughout the resort.

Designed to enrich the guest experience, Life Cycles will unfold across Amanzoe’s defining spaces through sculpture installations by acclaimed artists Marina Karella, Alexandra Athanassiades, Nikomachi Karakostanoglou and Despina Flessa. Presented together for the first time, the quartet creates a compelling artistic dialogue exploring themes of continuity, evolution and renewal, seamlessly complementing Amanzoe’s timeless yet contemporary aesthetic.

Within the peaceful Library and adjoining terrace, influential Greek painter and sculptor Marina Karella will present a series of sculptures exploring light, shadow and drapery — enduring symbols of the Grecian aesthetic. Her internationally recognised practice reflects on the ephemeral and metaphysical, with works including The Gold Cloth and Hibiscuscombining classical references with a distinctive postmodern sensibility.

Across the lavender garden, sculptures from Alexandra Athanassiades’ Armour and Horses series will punctuate the pastoral landscape. Known for her hand-hammered forms, Athanassiades explores the interplay between inner identity and outward expression, with layered compositions evoking resilience, transformation and the passage of time.

Meanwhile, on the poolside terrace, Nikomachi Karakostanoglou’s luminous marble works, Sacred Vessels, draw inspiration from ancient votive forms. Her intuitive and experimental approach invites tactile engagement while exploring themes of memory, regeneration and the enduring relationship between material and light.

Furthering the exhibition’s exploration of time and trace, Despina Flessa will showcase aluminium sculptures from her Fossils and Shades collection within the Library, alongside a curated selection of graphite sculptural drawings titled Folding Landscapes. Rooted in archaeology and imagination, Flessa’s works reflect on the shifting nature of presence and absence, offering poetic meditations on what is preserved, rediscovered and reimagined across generations.

Designed by renowned architect Ed Tuttle, Amanzoe’s colonnaded walkways, serene courtyards and panoramic gardens provide a natural setting for art, nature and design to converge. The resort’s name — derived from the Sanskrit word for “peace” and the Greek word zoe, meaning “life” — further reflects the philosophy behind Life Cycles, aligning naturally with Aman’s ethos of fostering deeper connections to destination, heritage and culture.

Alongside the exhibition, a curated programme of exclusive activations will invite guests to engage with art beyond the traditional gallery setting. Experiences will include private “Meet the Artist” sessions and guided tours, offering deeper insight into the contemporary Greek art scene.

Guests may also encounter Life Cycles organically while exploring the property, while non-resident visitors can experience the exhibition by reserving a table at Amanzoe’s dining venues, including Nura at the Beach Club and Akari, the resort’s signature poolside Japanese restaurant.
